How to prepare roasted Grasshoppers


Ingredients

    Ingredients for 4 people

  1. 2 kg grasshoppers
  2. 3 tsps salt
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. wood ash

Method

  1. After catching the grasshoppers, clean them thoroughly by removing all the wings, legs, and the hairlike tail fin
  2. To make this work easier, first dip all the insects into wood ash and remove them one by one as you clean.
  3. Wash the insects until clean and free from ash.
  4. Place a clean saucepan on the fire and drop in the grasshoppers then stir continuously for about 15 minutes
  5. Sprinkle them with salt, add the chopped tomatoes and onions, then stir continuously for about 10 minutes.
  6. They are then ready to serve
