How to prepare Eshabwe (Ghee suace)


 

Ingredients

    Ingredients for 4 people

  1. 2 kg ntsimbo ghee
  2. 3 tsps rock salt
  3. Fresh water

Method

  1. Gently stir ntsimbo ghee with a pinch of rock salt (from Lake Katwe in western Uganda) melted in a little water.
  2. Little by little, the diluted ghee will change color from yellow to white.
  3. Sieve the sauce to remove the remaining of rock salt or clots of ghee
  4. Add some table salt.
  5. The same sauce made from lower quality ghee is called nunire
