How to prepare African Chai Tea



Ingredients

  1. 2 cups whole milk (or milk of choice)
  2. 2 cups water
  3. 6 teabags of plain black tea
  4. 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger
  5. ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  7. ¼ teaspoon ground black peppercorn
  8. ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  9. sugar to taste

Method

  1. Bring water and milk to a boil while stirring frequently
  2. Add ginger and ground spices and steep teabags in boiling water/milk mixture for 3-5 minutes while continuing to stir
  3. Remove teabags. Add sugar to taste
  4. Serve hot and enjoy!
